BY THE NUMBERS - TALENT
Client: Ithaca College Television (ICTV)
Project Type: School
Position: Talent/Motion Design/Writer/Producer
Timeline: March 2020
Right before the Pandemic our Men's basketball team competed in the Liberty League Finals, and due to multiple scheduling conflicts with the ICTV broadcast of the men's game, we were down a few talent members and had a 3 minute hole in our rundown that we didn't find out about until 3 days before the show. In those 3 days, I researched, wrote, and built graphics for it (along with building the rest of the show like I normally do as producer). I also had to gather all the stats by manually looking them up, they unfortunately weren't digitized so I had to gather them and then sort them into a spreadsheet with expressions that would help me parse the data, then actually analyze it, build the graphs, etc. Then in the middle of the show I had to get up from line producing at the end of B Block, go into the studio and read it live with no prior rehearsal. The kicker? I'd never been in front of the camera for a live show before at all. It went incredibly well outside of the flat lighting caused by some issues we couldn't quite fix before showtime, my hair being way too long, and the fact that I had no idea what to do with my hands (I also found out I'm painfully slow at tying a tie). Overall, I'm super impressed with how it went and it was very well received. I also got to surprise my family with it.
